Donate to the Wild Area

St Jude's is a very lucky school indeed. We are blessed to be so close to the city, a stones throw (no pun intended) from the sea and to have our own glorious Wild Area on site.

Children love being outdoors and we are keen to increase the amount of time pupils get to spend outside. This year, all teachers have had training from the Learning Through Landscapes Team to help us use our outdoor spaces even more effectively. Our Wild Area space is a tremendous 1/3 of an acre and currently has a seated area and lots of trails for children to venture though. Many of you will also know that the Wild Area has its own pond and decked area, but over the years this has fallen into disrepair and pupils are no longer able to access the decked area or the pond.

We would like to be able to restore this area back to its former glory and additionally would like to add two canopied areas so there is an all-year-round element to the area.

This year we took down some trees from the field area and had these chipped in order to relay the paths and had time donated from SSE in order to make things ship shape and ready for the spring. We are currently trying to fundraise in order to replace the decking, restore the pond, relay the paths and add canopy/shaded areas.

If you feel able to support this project, please do make a donation using the link below - no amount is too small and every single penny will help maintain and enhance this area that we are so lucky to have. If you know of anyone else (business or person) who would like to make a donation please do contact
