Charitable Work

Tearfund

Tearfund is a Christian charity that partners with churches in more than 50 of the world’s poorest countries. As Christians, they follow Jesus’ example by being Christ-centred, compassionate, courageous, truthful and servant hearted in everything they do.

Our school values of Love, Honesty, Forgiveness and Hope align very closely to the beliefs of the charity which is why we support them.

Most recently, we held a ‘Dress in Blue to Support a Loo!’ day. The children and their families raised enough money to toilet twin with a school in Mozambique and a refugee camp in Bangladesh, as well as bin twin with a school in Afghanistan and a community in Kenya. This work supports our partnership with St Jude’s Church who are also advocates of toilet twinning. Additionally, our generous and committed Year 6 children fundraised through a PSHE project thus supporting our mission for clean water and sanitisation worldwide.

Other charitable events have included:

Year 2 and Year 3 singing to the residents of Queen Anne Lodge
Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association – Rock Your Socks (annual)
Reverse advent calendar – staff donated sleeping bags to a local charity (annual)
Harvest Festival (annual)
Year 6 as part of their Big 7 raised money for the RSPCA, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research
